Welcome to Hambledon Heritage Cottages, located in Christchurch. Our Heritage Cottages are located in the grounds of Historic Hambledon, a Victorian mansion built in 1856. Completely self contained and private, these beautiful character cottages have been refurbished to provide that extra something in charcter accommodation.
Located within easy walking distance of Hagley Park, the Convention Centre, Town Hall, Arts Centre, Museum, Casino and more than fifteen bars and restaurants, and the Cathedral Square. Christchurch is the perfect City for walking and there are over 60 short walks that explore the rich cultural and environmental heritage of the Garden City.
Our collection of heritage and character cottages are available for short term (minimum three days) and longer stays.
This collection of historic properties has been completely refurbished to provide quality rental accommodation for business people, tourists and folk relocating. They have been furnished to a high standard with fully equipped kitchens, lovely sitting rooms and bedrooms, laundry facilities, excellent bathrooms and quality linen. All have tranquil private gardens or terraces with outdoor furniture for relaxation.
Hambledon's Heritage Cottages provide a range of accommodation for one to five people and are exclusively for your use for the duration of your stay. They are all well fenced and secure with off-street parking.
Camellia Cottage
A romantic cottage located in the east wing of Hambledon mansion with a private entrance to a secluded garden and rose covered verandah with outdoor furniture. The sunny kitchen opens to the private verandah and entrance. Off-street parking. It also has a charming sitting/dining room with the original built in dresser and wood paneling, comfortable seating with a TV, video player, radio cassette, dining table and chairs. Siutable for one to two people.
Coachhouse
An attractive two storeyed three bedroom apartment situated in part of the old stables that was originally the grooms' quarters. Upstairs there is a comfortable sitting room opening to a large terrace, kitchen and a large bedroom. Downstairs is the main bedroom, a smaller bedroom and a bathroom. Off-street parking is available. Suitable for one to five people.
Hollyhock Cottage
Built originally for the original owner's parents in 1856, Hollyhock Cottage is sited for the afternoon sun. Located at the back of the stables with a lovely private walled garden and off-street parking. The charming dining room overlooks the garden and has the original built-in dresser. Suitable for one to two people.
Smoking is not permitted within the buildings.
These character properties are owned by Brent and Claire Smith who host Bed and Breakfast guests in their historic mansion Hambledon.
