Cedarview Farm Homestay Bed and Breakfast, is where town meets country. We offer high quality Qualmark 4 Star rated accommodation in a lovely semi-rural setting, with beautiful private gardens, ideally situated close to central Christchurch & the Airport.
Take a trip to the skifields (pick up at gate), visit Akaroa, the whales at Kaikoura, or a ride on the Tranz Alpine train, then back home for a long hot soak in our fully enclosed spa pool. Just three minutes away is the large shopping area of Hornby with a modern mall, factory outlet centre, restaurants and bars. Within a short drive you can visit wineries, see kiwis at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, go to the award winning Antarctic Centre. Just two minutes away is the Templeton Golf Course. Whatever your passion we are close to it.
Because we are situated so close to both the Airport & the City many of our guests either start or finish (sometimes both) their trip to NZ with us.
While with us you can enjoy Carol's homemade jams and preserves. Free range eggs (providing the girls get busy and lay some of course) and even our own honey.
Guest Rooms and Accommodation
We offer three rooms ranging in price from NZ $100(single) to NZ $175(double) Our prices are inclusive of all Taxes and daily breakfasts.
- The Gardens Suite. The Gardens Suite, so called because of its lovely outlook over our front lawn and main garden areas.This large bright, spacious room has a King Bed,TV, two easy chairs, Tea/Coffee facilities and an ensuite bathroom.
- The Pines Room and Stable Room. The Stables Room has a Queen Bed & TV and gives stunning views over the front of our property towards the stables. The Pines Room has Two single Beds & TV with views towards the far end of our Farmlet towards the Christchurch suburb of Templeton in the distance.
Both The Stables room & Pines room share an adjacent bathroom on the landing.The Pines & Stables room are ideal for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) Please note that we only have one group at a time using either or both of these rooms so the bathroom will always be used only by the members of your own family/party.
There are no cooking facilities in any of our rooms but Tea & Coffee are provided in the Gardens Room and on the landing for the Stables/Pines Rooms where we also have a writing table and various travel information. While staying with us you are very welcome to join us in either our lounge or family room for a drink and a chat.
About Us
We moved from the UK to New Zealand in 1986 and simply love our lifestyle. We keep beef cattle, hens and occasionally a lamb or two. If animals interest you then an extra hand at feeding time is always appreciated. Especially when bottle feeding a baby calf.We also have a farm cat called Alfie and Labrador dog called Ruby.
