Enjoy the unique charm of Anglesea House, a spacious Edwardian Villa that combines stylish comfort with an elegant décor to create a gracious, relaxing ambience. Recently extensively renovated to provide unique boutique accommodation, Anglesea House is located in Renwick, Blenheim.
Built in 1905, nestled in extensive grounds and gardens, this local landmark icon with its attractive architectural features is a delightful place to stay. Stroll down the avenue of moptop Robinias to enjoy the local scenic views and hear the native bird song whilst sitting in the lush garden amongst the fruit trees.
Anglesea House is conveniently situated five minutes from Blenheim airport, a stone's throw to local renowned wineries, restaurants and cafés, or a short stroll to the local shops and bars. We are the perfect base for exploring this wonderful regions many wineries, art galleries, and the Marlborough Wine Festival, held annually in the 2nd weekend of February.
Accommodation
There are four comfortable bedrooms to choose from all tastefully furnished with quality bedding:
- The Orange Grove - A Queen bedroom with its own ensuite, lounge and French doors opening out onto a deck and paved area containing a potager garden of herbs and citrus fruits.
- The Grapevine - This King or twin bedroom with a shared bathroom, is a sumptuous retreat from the stress of travelling and offers guests a tranquil space in which to recoup their energy before engaging in the delights of exploration
- The Citrus Tree - This Queen bedroom upstairs with its own private ensuite is secluded and has a magnficient four poster bed which invests the room with a country life theme.
- The Olive Grove - This Single bedroom is also upstairs, offering a single room of attic proportions
We also have private lounges with Sky TV. A gourmet breakfast of your choice is served at the dining table overlooking a formal circular rose garden paved with bricks. Alternatively, you can enjoy a leisurely alfresco breakfast on the sunny veranda. Enjoy an evening meal at nearby restaurants, or dinner can be provided inhouse on request.
Activities and Things to Do
Blenheim is a wonderful base for the Nelson and Marlborough region, and there are a host of local activities to enjoy. Enjoy Wine Tours, Art Galleries, Garden Tours, walking tracks, cruising and kayaking in the Marlborough Sounds, and a wide range of restaurants, wineries and cafes.
Anglesea House is also the perfect place to stay for the Omaka Classic Fighters Airshow, held bi-annually at Easter. The next show in April 2009 and is an extravganza of thrilling air and ground displays, glamorous Italian sports cars, and delicious food and wine.
