Situated in one of the leafy valleys that stretch towards the Waitemata harbour from Remuera Road, one of the early carriage ways in this long established residential area.
Mt Hobson (143 m) one of Auckland's many volcanic cones, where you will see signs of terracing and pits from early Maori habitation, is a short walk away. The city's founding father Logan Campbell, having scrambled to its summit pronounced the view surpassed those he had witnessed in more exotic places in far distant lands. You can orientate yourself from this vantage point, rewarded with panoramic views of Auckland's twin harbours, the gulf, distant land forms and islands and see why it is called the city of sails.
