A 1901 lovingly restored Edwardian townhouse in downtown Auckland, New Zealand, Braemar on Parliament Street Bed and Breakfast provides elegant accommodation for the discerning traveller.
Braemar is well suited for tourists as well as visitors to the Auckland Central Business District, the High Court, Auckland University,the Auckland University of Technology and Vector Arena. We offer a relaxed, comfortable and quiet environment, the elegant Edwardian architecture providing an escape from the bustle of Downtown.
All our guest rooms are upstairs on the 1st floor and are tastefully furnished with a mixture of the old and new. Both the Batten Suite, with ensuite bathroom and private tv lounge, and the Victorian room with an insuite bath and toilet, have open fireplaces. Our Norman and Jenny rooms share a bathroom and are often booked as one unit. All our bathrooms have restored old style large clawfoot baths which are superb for relaxation and pampering. All toiletries are complimentary and we endeavour to offer the finest New Zealand made products available.
The ground floor (street level at the front) has two lounges for your relaxation and we have a laptop computer for you to check your email via our broadband connection. The dining-room where we serve breakfast is located on the lower ground floor.
Being located by Auckland University means that cinemas, theatres, cafes, restaurants, the Skytower, the Ferry Buildings, the railway and bus stations, the Vector Arena and ASB Tennis Courts are all just a short walk away.
We share our home with two toy poodles and a small black cat.
Breakfasts are made to order in our stainless steel kitchen and served in the adjacent dining-room. We can cater for any special dietary needs, just let us know when you book if you have any food allergies or special requirements. Our hearty New Zealand breakfasts are made from the freshest available GE free produce.
Our rose dining-room features linen damask tablecloths, silver cutlery and fine bone china. Relax in the comfort of this spacious room and enjoy your breakfast in style.
The richly furnished front parlour can be a theatrette with its video projector and hi fi sound system. Sky digital is available on all the house TV's and can be controlled by the guest's own Sky remote in the upstairs bedrooms.
