Birdwood House is located in the North Shore suburb of Hillcrest, 10-15 minutes from Auckland CBD and 40-45 from Auckland Airport. Our beautifully restored villa is a gabled colonial-style farmhouse, embracing the very best of old and new, and offering a tranquil setting surrounded by native bush with mature trees on one side and an Italian-style courtyard on the other. We are located between the beach suburb of Takapuna, trendy Northcote Point, and the Birkenhead Shopping Centre with many restaurants and shops, and a regular bus service is close by. Guest Accommodation Relax on our lovely verandas and watch the bird life - tuis, native wood pigeons, fantails and many others. Enjoy a delicious breakfast in our dining room, on the veranda or out in the courtyard. All bedrooms are large and provided with the best quality beds and cotton linen, wool duvets, underlays and pillows. We offer a sumptuous breakfast with an emphasis on fresh and home-made cuisine in our dining room or on the veranda, weather permitting. Breakfast includes home-made muesli, jams, yogurts, and grain toast. Delicious omelettes are a specialty, not to mention scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and many other traditional breakfast dishes. We have a guest lounge where you can relax and enjoy a complimentary port wine, tea or coffee, read the newspaper, a magazine, or listen to music. A small library is also available in our study.
