Just over an hour from Christchurch and less than ten minutes drive to Akaroa, this haven from everyday life offers guests the chance to relax and give themselves up to the magic of Akaroa Harbour.
A personalised service offers guests a choice of standard packages or creating their own. Pamper a loved one with your chosen combination of traditonal B&B, a platter of fresh home made bread and local delicacies with local wine, 3 or 4 course dinners or a full 5 course with wines matched to each course, late check outs, gift baskets, flowers and handmade chocolates. Sue is happy to create you a package.
There is only one guest suite. It has a large bedroom, ensuite bathroom with double spa bath and lounge with private deck and garden access. Air conditoning and central heating throughout ensure your comfort. The original sawmiller's cottage has been extensively renovated to create a luxurious guest suite. It has all the modern comforts while retaining an historic ambience.
Dine by candlelight, indulge in a candlelit spa bath with luxury toiletries and then slip between the Egyptian Cotton sheets of the luxurious queen size bed. Choose down, lambswool or hypoallergenic pillows, snuggle beneath the lambswool duvet. We will see you in the morning at a time of your choosing when your gourmet breakfast will arrive in your dining room or on the deck.
Fruit and vegetables are grown on site. Gourmet cuisine using these and the best local produce has been described as "first class". Sue is a creative cook producing superb fresh food with no artifical additives.
This inspired combination of quality, private, hosted accommodation offers discreet service and pampering where guests can choose to chat with their hosts or relax in their own way. We have purposely not included television, telephone or internet in the suite, however guests are contactable by telephone in an emergency.
An extensive range of high quality beverages(teas, coffee, beer, wine, juice, soft drinks) snacks, fresh fruit, local cheese, crackers, whisky, port and home made cookies is included in al tariffs.
The guest lounge has an open fire, well stocked bookcase, CD collection and stereo, chess and other board games,quality magazines, piano, writing desk with paper, postcards and envelopes and a range of informative local information should you feel the need to go anywhere.
Because we cater to such a small number of people we are completely focused on your preferences.
